The "New Shastri Memorial College of Education" started functioning at its Patta Bohri Campus in the year 1994-95. The College is being run by "N.S.M. Educational Society" registered with the competent authority under the Societies Act, with its registered office at Talab Tillo, Jammu.

The Chairman of the society is Sh. T. R. Mahajan , a renowned Educationist.

The college is An ISO 9001 : 2000 CERTIFIED INSTITUTION , recognised by the govt. of J & K and is affiliated to the University of Jammu.
